By Kristy Garza Robinson

So you want to Start Something Nuevo for Latino students on your campus and need curriculum to make it happen?

Well then, look no further! The “Life of Moses” Bible study series was created to help students and staff take the plenary teaching from LaFe13: Mi Gente, back to campus to share with their friends. “Life of Moses” will provide you with the first eight weeks of teaching to help your LaFe ministry become outward focused from the very start.

God is sending you out on mission to start something new on your campuses, and we as LaFe staff are thrilled to come alongside you in this calling from him! We want you to know that we are hoping and dreaming with you about what God may want to do on your campuses to make himself known.

Personally, I am also so excited to see how God might use this specific study to grow you and those who will journey with you into the kind of leaders he desires you all to become. This study is particularly meaningful to me because many of the themes in the life of Moses are themes that resonate with my own story as a 3rd generation Latina. I, like Moses, am a bicultural person that has struggled at times to know who I am and where I belong. I, like Moses, have had to let God into the deep areas of brokenness in my heart in order to be healed by him. And I, like Moses, have had to wrestle with God’s calling on my life. His mission for me to minister among the Latino community has been one of the most amazing and challenging experiences of my life.

So as you make your way through this study, I want you to know that I am praying for you. I am praying that God will be doing the work he needs to do in your lives to raise you up as the next generation of Latino leaders who will bring more of his kingdom to bear on your families, your communities, and your world. I am praying that as you look at the life of Moses, you will be encouraged, inspired, and equipped for the good works he has for you now and in the future. So let us labor together towards seeing God’s name glorified. We are a people called for this purpose.

P.S. This study is not meant to replace the “Start Something New” manual, but rather it is a companion series that will give you the curriculum you need to reach Latino students. “Start Something New” will teach you how to start a ministry; “Life of Moses” gives you material to teach. For this reason we ask that you please order a copy of “Start Something New” to help you in your planting endeavors.
